Sunflowers in the Field

awakening at dawn

It was just cool enough so that dew was forming, and I parked along the side of a dirt road and wandered into the field, early enough before the bees started their busy work. The light from the sun was rising and hit the petals of the flowers in a remarkable way. I saw shadows and textures you just don't see in the stereotypical sunflower photo. I'm thrilled with the ability to be able to share these photos with you.

The featured photo was selected to be in the 2020 Minnesota State Fair Fine Arts exhibit.
